Juan earned a B.S. in Business Administration from The Escuela de Administracion de Negocios E.A.N. in Bogota, Colombia. He worked for seven years in the development and management of multifamily condos and shopping centers in that city. In 1990 he and his wife came to Gainesville where she pursued her Master's in Civil Engineering at UF, University of Florida and Juan pursued graduated studies in UNF, University of North Florida.
He also was very involved in sports in Colombia, mostly horseback riding (dressage and jumping) and martial arts. He competed and obtained bronce, silver and gold medals in national and international events.
His professional experience in the United States started in 1998 in property management. He has been a Realtor since 2003 and his professional achievements as Buyer's Agent, Listing Agent and Transaction Broker have made him recipient of the following awards:
- Rookie of the Year.
- Million Dollar Producer.
- Multi-million Dollar Producer.
Juan is also very active in the community and is an active participant of the following organizations:
- UF-FARE ( University of Florida Friends & Alumni of Real Estate), member.
- Neighborhood Housing and Development Corporation, speaker.
- Gainesville and Alachua County Chamber of Commerce, member.
- Hispanic Business Council of the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce. member.
- National Association of Realtors, member.
- Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors, member
- Holy Faith Catholic Church, parishioner.
- Herencia Latina, member.
- Gainesville Gaviatas Sincrhonized Swim Team, proud Dad.
He is fond of The Lady Gators Volleyball Team GO GATORS!!, car racing GO MONTOYA!!, and still practices martial arts with his kids.
